About
I’m qualified to degree level and have Early Years Professional Status. I’m a member of Oswestry Childminding Group and highly value Continuing Professional Development. I work hard to keep my practice fresh and up to date by attending various courses and workshops throughout the year in the evenings or at the weekend.

I follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum (EYFS), I am regulated by Ofsted and I am able to offer funded Nursery Education places for 3 and 4 year old children in the same way that nurseries and preschools can. I am also able to offer funded places for eligible 2 year old children - please enquire for further details.
I have been registered with Ofsted since February 2004 and have previous experience in the Early Years having worked for 2.5 years with the Oswestry Methodist Pre-school group and also at Oswestry Day Nursery.
Although we’re home based we spend lots of time getting fresh air! We enjoy walks in the woods, visits to places such as Park Hall Farm, Chirk Castle, Ty Mawr Country Park and Whittington ducks as well as simply playing in the garden or at the park.
Why The Name?
For most of my life my surname was Horner and Horner's Corner was a term my children came up with as a business name back in 2004. It worked brilliantly until my husband and I eventually married. I'd had visions of independently keeping my name but I realised quite quickly that along with marrying Gary I also wanted to share his surname - Mortimer's Corner didn't seem to have the same ring to it!
